Kent is the Garden of England
Kent is the Garden of England, and with 11 blue flag beaches and countless beautiful wedding venues, it’s a great place to get married (not to mention take photographs).
Kent sits to the south east of London, tracing the Thames as it heads into capital. Because it’s so close, and and offers so many gorgeous water settings to choose from, it’s one of the best places in the UK for pre-wedding or engagement shoots. If you want grand, you only need to look to Leeds Castle (don’t be fooled by the name, it’s just east of Maidstone!) This is one place I haven’t actually shot yet, but it’s number one on my wishlist. Not only has it got 500 acres of luscious gardens and parklands to make the most of, there’s a spectacular moat and even a Maiden’s Tower. Wedding venues don’t get more magical than this.
There are lots more castles and stately homes to try, though if you want something a bit more quirky (and furry) you could go for Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and Mansion. The Edwardian mansion and grounds are incredibly regal, and you can include a VIP Safari in your big day too! It’s very close to the coast if you want to visit the beach, and they cater for all sizes of weddings, from intimate occasions up to 400 guests.
