Buckinghamshire is a fabulous setting to get married in. It’s a ceremonial county that borders the western edge of Greater London, making it really easy to get to and absolutely overflowing with lush natural beauty. It’s got that classically English countryside feel that is hard not to fall in love with, especially in the sunny summer months.
There are loads of different types of venue across Buckinghamshire for a picturesque wedding, from the grand and historic to more intimate, romantic spots, depending on what you’re looking for. Of the wedding venues I’ve photographed there are certainly a few that stand out as memorable.
The first is Taplow House Hotel. It’s one of my absolute favourite venues, and delivers the charming, traditional country house atmosphere that Buckinghamshire is famous for. So it’s no surprise that it’s a number one choice for couples in search of an intimate venue that gives a real English heritage feel on their photographs.
Another favourite destination that I’ve shot at several times is Hedsor House. It’s a Georgian Mansion located in 100 acres of parkland, and has been home to more than a few royals in its time. The bridal suite is absolutely stunning, with lots of space, and the rooms off it are perfect for bridesmaids to get changed in too. If your wedding is particularly large and you need more space than the house provides, the staff will lay on a grand marquee. There are all kinds of places to get stunning portraits, one of the best spots being the gardens just under the house itself. The old steps and water features look sensational on camera with the mansion in the background.
